Self Portrait

This is probably as close to myself actually drawing a real life person, in this case myself. In all honesty, I've avoided doing this kind of art because 1.) I suck at drawing realistic proportions and 2.) This kind of photorealism is boring as hell, I might as well be taking a photograph.

To better suit my ability to even accomplish a self-portrait style work, I had to *exaggerate* certain human proportions such as the eyes, nose, lips and ears; typically these are almost annoying parts to draw realistically and effectively. Don't get me wrong, I'm not bashing the realistic art, it can be done exceptionally well and can be very engaging to observe at times, but it is by no means a custom I'm suited to, nor am willing to compromise to include to an extreme extent in my work.

This was done in a class I took where we explored different forms of media, the assignment was to create a juxtaposition of 2 unrelated images. And it just so happens that the relation I established relates to my varied opinions on the imagined and real.
