[Cubicle Drawing 11] - A Mega Crowd

[11 of 36] of my series of drawings/ doodles I did during my 4.5 month work contract as a game tester. All done during idle time and break periods.

I coined the "Capcom Crowd" type of artwork back when I was working on my Paper Mario Doodle. So I figured why not actually do one that is Capcom related. The subject to work on, came easy: Classic Mega Man. Although I have played some of Mega Man X and Mega Man Zero, neither nor the spin-offs can truly compare to the original Classic Mega Man's stature. Concurrently, I believe it was around this time that I had ordered a Mega Man 25 Anniversary Complete Works Artbook (Limited Hardcover Edition) from UDON, although said helpful artbook wouldn't arrive until I was roughly more than halfway through my drawing spree.

Having seen a lot of the archetypical Capcom Crowd work, especially that of Mega Man, how to position them came rather easy. The harder part was selecting WHO should actually appear on the compilation. I did my best to select my overall favorites, but I'm certain I could fit more or even all the Classic Robot Masters and Main Cast. To avoid favoring one entry too much, I tried my best to include AT LEAST one from each numeric entry. That being said... I couldn't settle on any Mega Man 8 Robot Masters, mostly because that was my least favorite entry in all 10 Mega Man titles and the Mega Man and Bass entry. None of the Robot Masters really stood out for me, or at least feasible for me to include in the compilation with limited space available. And I still have horrid memories of "Jump, Jump... Slide, Slide... (repeat)". I considered adding Magic Man from Mega Man and Bass, but fell short of space (The space above Galaxy Man and Nitro Man was where the convention seminar's logo was plastered, so I couldn't draw there unless I wanted to spend a week or 2 trying to PS clean that alone). Speaking of which, I meant to have this drawing PS cleaned within 4 days after my last drawing, but unfortunately this took much longer than I originally planned, ironically longer than how long it took me to actually draw this lol. You may have noticed that most Robot Masters have the typical "Happy" eyes, that's because I felt that their unaltered facial appearances conflict with the genial atmosphere I was going for. Roll had a variety of attires, so I ultimately settled for her simple gown, taking reference from her appearance in Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom.

Out of all my doodles I finished till the end of my contract, this was the only one that received the most observed fanfare to me. While this may or may not have truly been the case, more co-workers did openly express they liked this one the best than any of my other doodles. Although image editing layers would've proved most invaluable for a drawing like this, it was relatively easy for me to draw the whole thing flat.
